KXT Holds In‑House Trade & Shipping Training To Sharpen Export Operations

Jul 30, 2026

WUXI, China – KXT, a home textile exporter of bedding sets, mattress covers, pillows, and silk pillowcases, recently ran a practical training session on international trade and shipping for its logistics and trade teams.

Led by Zhu Hua, the session covered INCOTERMS 2020, payment methods, shipping documents, customs clearance, and everyday shipping challenges.

Trade terms in practice
The team reviewed FOB, CFR, and CIF versus FCA, CPT, and CIP, with a clear preference for FCA in KXT's daily work-because it puts export customs clearance on the seller's side, supporting VAT rebates and smoother operations. EXW was flagged as higher‑risk; when used, the team was reminded to add specific contract clauses to protect tax refunds and avoid compliance gaps.

Shipping workflows and documents
Port routines for Shanghai's Yangshan and Waigaoqiao were explained-cut‑off times, VGM rules, and container pickup windows. The training also distinguished between bills of lading (negotiable), rail/air waybills (non‑negotiable), so the team knows which documents give control over cargo.

Payments and compliance
Letter‑of‑credit operations got special attention-especially the "single‑minded" rule: documents must match both the L/C terms and each other. Practical tips included negotiating bank charges with buyers upfront, leaving enough time between ETD and L/C deadlines, and securing buyer agreement on possible discrepancies before shipment.

Customs and cost control
Customs procedures were summarized in four steps: declaration, inspection, duty assessment, and release. A key warning: branded goods (even with visible letters or marks) must be declared as branded, or risk detention. The team also compared drayage, rail‑sea, and barge options from Wuxi to Shanghai ports, with cost benchmarks to help quote overseas customers more accurately.

The training reinforced KXT's focus on practical know‑how-from contract negotiation to final delivery-so the export team can handle daily operations with fewer surprises and better cost control.
