If you can't tell by touch, you can try it by burning it. Take a piece of silk and burn it, the silk has a paste smell of burning protein, such as burning egg shells or burning feathers, and the ashes left are black particles that can be crushed; chemical fiber silk is a petrochemical product, burning There is the smell of paraffin, as well as smoke, and it leaves a hard glue that cannot be crushed after being scorched.
If it is inconvenient to burn, you can try to test with water droplets, drop a drop of water on the silk surface, real silk is hydrophilic, moisture absorption and perspiration are good, and the water droplets penetrate and diffuse quickly; and chemical fiber silk is a petroleum product, which is absorbent. Very bad, water drops will not spread for a long time like dewdrops.

How to care for pure silk?

In summer, there will be a lot of sweat. Silk clothes and bedding contaminated with sweat need to be cleaned and maintained in time, so as not to lose luster and flexibility under the corrosion of sweat and other dirt, so as to destroy the whole clothes.

When washing silk clothes and bedding, pay attention to avoid gravitational friction, twisting and dragging, so as to avoid permanent damage to the protein fibers of silk. It is not recommended to machine wash silk clothes, because during the machine washing process, machine actions such as stirring and drying can easily cause irreparable wrinkles and snags to the silk.

If you choose to wash by hand, then pay attention to washing with clean water or use professional silk lotion. Do not use alkaline detergents such as soap, washing powder, and disinfectant for decontamination. And the water temperature should be kept below 30 ℃ to avoid damaging the structure of silk protein fibers.

After washing silk clothes, do not twist them hard, they should be gently shaken, drained, and aired on the opposite side. When drying, hang it in a cool place to dry slowly in the shade, and do not expose it to the hot sun, which can easily cause the silk to fade, yellow or even become brittle. Greatly shorten the service life.
