Duvet storage must be divided into three steps!
Jul 29, 2022
Small partners may not have noticed that there are several points for attention when storing down duvets. Otherwise duvet is received undeserved, may cause the problem such as yellowing, odor, influence fleeciness.

Step 1: Air dry in advance
(Avoid breeding mites, yellowing and peculiar smell)
Before storing down comforters, it is recommended to clean them once conditionally, such as seven stars washing or I*wash, which is a professional washing care for home textiles. Dry cleaning is absolutely not OK, because dry cleaning will damage down and affect the density. Then be sure to dry it properly, to make sure the moisture is removed.
But you can't dry it in the sun for a long time, and you don't need to dry it on the balcony all day long, because it may absorb moisture instead. The duvet removes moisture, which can better prevent the breeding of mites and bacteria, avoid the yellowing of the duvet after being stored, and the fishy smell.
Step 2: Store in a cloth bag
(Avoid damage to down and affect fluffy)
The down of the duvet has a spherical structure, and the fibers cannot withstand vacuum compression for a long time. In order to save space, many friends choose to pack the fluffy duvet in a vacuum compression bag. Although it saves time, it does great damage to the down. Generally speaking, the compression ratio of the duvet cannot be higher than 70%.
When storing the duvet, do you use plastic bags or cloth bags? There are certain rules about this. Big tree thinks, conditional small partner can use cloth bag to pack down comforter. Because plastic bags are not breathable and impermeable to moisture, the compression is also large when packing. So it smells for a long time.
If a cloth bag is used to pack the down comforter, it can play the role of protecting the quilt, and it can be breathable and permeable. Storage bag can put a bag of activated carbon or desiccant, can play moisture absorption, and can go to the effect of odor, but pay attention not to put mothballs, to avoid the quilt yellowing oh.
The third step: avoid light and do not stress
(Avoid yellowing and affect bulkiness)
After the duvet is stored, it should be placed in a dry place away from light, and avoid storing it directly in a place with strong light. Long-term light will affect the yellowing of the quilt surface. In addition, when storing the duvet, do not put it on the bottom layer, try to choose to put the duvet on the top layer to avoid affecting the fluffy.
