1.What is polylactic acid fiber?
Poly (lactic acid) is made by fermentation of lactic acid and sugar. After the polymerization of lactic acid, poly (lactic acid) particles are formed into polymers, and the resulting poly (lactic acid) particles are relatively safe.
Poly (lactic acid) fiber, commonly known as "corn fiber", refers to the high optical purity of L-polylactic acid (PLLA) as raw material, using its high crystallization, high orientation and other characteristics, through different spinning processes (melt spinning, wet spinning, dry spinning, dry spinning, electrostatic spinning, etc.).
2., the characteristics of poly (lactic acid) fiber
Polylactic acid fiber is naturally skin-friendly, soft, shiny, moisturizing and breathable. It has the characteristics of chemical fiber polymerization, but it is softer than chemical fiber and more powerful than natural fiber. The antibacterial rate reaches 99%. The clothing made of polylactic acid fiber has good environmental adaptability and can alleviate the environmental pollution caused by textile and garment production to a large extent.
As a new type of green fiber, PLA fiber is different from traditional cellulose fiber and chemical fiber, but it has the advantages of these two kinds of fiber at the same time: on the one hand, PLA raw material and cellulose fiber are from natural plants; On the other hand, PLA fiber has the same superior fiber properties and processing properties as chemical fiber, with various effective functions and relatively stable melting point. At the same time, polylactic acid fiber can also be made into a variety of functional fibers according to the need for special occasions.
1.Application of polylactic acid in textile industry
1), long fiber
DTY: Feel fluffy, with the current low-temperature elastic fiber, in underwear, bed, sports/leisure clothing field has a wide prospect.
2), staple
Spinning: Mixed with cotton, hemp, silk, wool, viscose, Lycel and other fibers, can produce different styles of fabrics.
3), non-woven: such as spunspun non-woven, hot air/hot rolled non-woven, spunbond, melt spray non-woven, mainly used for packaging bags, Eisai and other disposable consumer goods.
4). Poly (lactic acid) clothing fabric
Make full use of the advantages of PLA fiber, such as easy shaping, good strength, good dimensional stability, no irritation to the skin, easy to wash and dry, and by changing the process and adding other materials during spinning, make PLA fiber functional, such as moisture absorption, sweat absorption and UV protection, so as to develop unique advantages of clothing fabrics.
5), home textile,
Stuffing for quilt and pillow: represented by hollow poly (lactic acid) staple fiber, it can be pure PLA or mixed with other fibers to replace the existing polyester related stuffing.
Bedding fabric (interwoven, blended, etc.) : Give full play to its good skin affinity, fabric stability, easy to wash, easy to dry and easy to take care of the characteristics.
4. the significance of the national "double carbon" policy
The most important feature of polylactic acid fiber products is that it can be 100% degraded into carbon dioxide and water in landfill compost state, and the whole processing and use process of polylactic acid fiber is low energy consumption, environmental protection and recyclable. At the same time, it meets the policy requirements of plastic ban and carbon emission reduction, and is environmentally friendly.
